Syrup Season 2020

Hello Folks,

Syrup Season 2020 is underway. We’ve made two batches of syrup so far. The weather has been up and down (more so then what is ideal) and as a result the flow of sap has been inconsistent. Some days we get a lot, other days we get nothing. It is still early for season up here, typically we don’t tap in until mid to late March, but here we are.

We are not having visitors to the shack this year in the wake of the Pandemic, but instead we are posting some videos to YouTube. So have a look at our you tube site and check out the first video from this year!

We are hopeful that everyone in this country does their part to flatten the curve. Stay home unless you absolutely NEED to. Avoid gatherings, and hanging out with friends/family until all this passes over. Wash your hands thoroughly and use caution if you have to go out to get groceries or whatever. The sooner we can all act collectively to socially distance ourselves from others, the better off the health care system will be in the long run to deal with other emergencies and anyone who becomes effected by the virus and needs care. Short term pain, long term gain folks.

It’s absolutely wild that we are living through these times, but it’s going to be a good example of how we will have to act in the future (and possibly how not to act as well) when this kind of thing happens again, and undoubtedly it will happen again. Stay safe everyone and try to make the best of the situation. It won’t be easy, but we can do it. We have to do it.

On a more positive note, warmer weather is on it’s way and I’m sure we will all be so very happy when it arrives. 🙂 Also, I’ll be doing some baking and posting some recipes soon!

Until next time,
ENJOY!
